Gold Coast

Gold Coast - Sun, Surf & Partying

Just a short 1 hour drive from Byron Bay, The Gold Coast feels to be the fastest growing non capital City. Our founders are Goldy locals so we have the extra knowledge of secret spots on the GC, from cool Micro Breweries owned by surfing legends to epic hiking and hidden waterfalls, the Gold Coast really has it all. Unfortunately most people only ever experience the Surfers Paradise hub, but the Gold Coast really has so much more to offer. We recommend hanging out on Burleigh Hill for a Sunset picnic before walking down to the recently refurbished Burleigh Pavilion to get the ultimate evening experience 😉

If Surfing is your thing, Currumbin Alley has an epic wave for all experience levels or Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta if you can handle a crowd! The nightlife options are immense to say the least. From quirky back alley bars in Burleigh and Nobbys Beach, to the full Surfers Experience down Cavil Ave, home to 15+ Nightclubs.. For a night out, I suggest starting at somewhere like Justin Lane, then taking it from there.. If you want to step it up a notch, Cavill Ave is a 15 min Uber. Sin City and Cocktails are the long standing, Vegas inspired institutions.. If you do find yourself at Sin City at 2am, try not to fall in love with the bartenders, they won’t love you back unless you tip them generously.

GVH’s insider tip

Here’s another secret we’re happy to share – nothing beats the markets on the Gold Coast. The town has a diverse selection of artisan-inspired marketplaces that are scattered in the suburbs, near the beaches and some are hidden in the valleys. Get your hands on some t-shirts or other memorabilia to remember your trip by.

Fun fact

There are more canals in the Gold Coast than there are in Venice!

Why Visit the Gold Coast?

We love this place because it’s the beach town that dreams are made of. Locals enjoy exactly 300 days of sunshine, so that means it’s never gloomy on the Gold Coast unless you are! This is only one reason of many that explains why the city attracts 13 million tourists every year.
